What's up life hackers, Well it's Monday yet again, but if you're looking for some good news I just read an article about how the Wales government (yes Wales) has planted their 10 millionth tree thanks to a program called "Plant". Every time a new child in Wales is born the government plants 2 trees on their behalf, and this only really became a thing because the word "plant" in Welsh translates to "children". (source) Here's your daily dose of life hacks... (2453) How To Break In New Shoes No one likes those first few wears of a brand new shoe, it can take weeks before they work into your feet properly. Well if you're looking to skip that process, just follow these steps: Step 1: Put on thick socks, and then your flats. Step 2: Blow-dry your shoes around the tight sections for a few minutes. Step 3: Keep your socks/flats on while it cools. Step 4: Test them out; repeat process if you need them more stretched out. (2454) In Trouble While Travelling? If you are ever in trouble anywhere around the world, find a Gurudwara near you. Gurudwaras are the holy place of worship for the Sikh religion. People from all backgrounds and all faiths are always welcome into a gurudwara. In almost all gurudwaras around the world, they also offer free food (Langar) and a place to sleep if needed. The people are also extremely helpful and will do what they can to help you out. (2455) Make Your Pumpkin Last Longer If you're the kind of person that gets their pumpkin on October first then this list is for you. Here's 9 things that will keep your pumpkin from rotting. 1. Clean the inside. 2. Give it a bleach-water bath after you carve it. 3. Apply petroleum jelly. 4. Rehydrate the pumpkin daily. 5. Store it in the fridge overnight. 6. Give it an ice bath. 7. Don't use real candles to light it. 8. Display it in a stable temperature. 9. Don't carve it.
