What's up life hackers, Today I learned that as a schoolboy, JRR Tolkien felt "bitter disappointment and disgust" that the woods did not actually march on the villain's castle and Shakespeare's prophecy was revealed as a rhetorical trick (Macbeth). Later, Tolkien made a point of writing a story where the trees performed as advertised. Here's your daily dose of life hacks... (2462) Tracking Spam Emails We've all been fed up with those annoying emails (hopefully not this one) that just don't seem to stop hitting your inbox. Well if you want to know exactly where they're coming from, put the website's name as your middle name or last name if that's an option. That way when you receive spam/advert emails, you will know who sold your info. (2463) Be Cautious Of "Anonymous" Surveys A lot of workplaces like to give out "anonymous" surveys in order to see what's truly going on with their employees. Reddit user pablocassinerio summed these things up pretty well: "I am in charge of a team at work, and every time the company sends a survey I emphasize the same point. I strongly believe that in a real survey there is no right and wrong (I'm talking surveys about how you feel regarding certain subjects), yet as we all know since we're in the internet right now, anonymity gives people a huge sense of security and disregard for potential consequences, so the idea of anonimity can make people see a survey as a blank slate to vent, joke or throw insults around. Always assume any survey from your company is NOT anonymous, keep it honest, but keep it respectful. " (2464) Make Cake Mix Taste Like It Was From A Bakery Lets be honest for a sec, cake mix doesn't stand a chance when compared to the real thing, BUT, if you're going to make it straight from a package the best thing you can do is use real butter instead of oil, milk instead of water, and add one extra egg. This will make it taste like you made it from scratch (just don't tell anyone it's cake mix).
